Halfen Corner Guards

Corner guards are the ideal protection for corners and edges of concrete walls and columns in car parks, factories and other buildings where vehicular movements occur. They are available in hot dip galvanised and stainless steel.
The Halfen HKW Corner Guard is designed to protect the corners of columns and walls in heavy traffic areas, and in particular, car parks. The angle section forming the guard is folded to a 90°+ internal angle to ensure a tight fit when fixing to formwork, thus helping to keep the outside surface of the angle clean during casting. The anchors are U shaped to avoid clashing with corner reinforcement.

Description of Halfen Corner Guard

3 mm thick steel plate folded to form a 50 mm x 50 mm angle. Normally mild steel hot dip galvanised, but available stainless steel grade 304 to order. For architectural finishes such as powder coated mild steel or etched and polished stainless steel, please consult Halfen Limited.
Anchors are 3 mm x 20 mm strip welded to the inside of the angle. They have punched holes to ensure concrete flow and secure anchorage.

Fixing Halfen Corner Guard

Each 1200 mm length of corner guard is supplied with 2 no. M8 tapped holes in each leg of the angle. The use of M8 hex head set screws (site applied) into these holes enables the guard to be pulled tight to the shutter. After striking the formwork the holes can be made good with a suitable filler.
