Halfen Pourstop and Skis |
| Two custom-fabricated solutions that provide safe and secure fixings into or close to the edge of thin metal deck flooring. The high load capacities are ideal for brickwork support systems, curtain wall fixings and in lift installations. |
| Halfen ‘Pourstop’ is a combined channel and edge trim for use in conjunction with a Metal Deck floor slab. It offers the advantage of a built in secure fixing (eg: for a masonry support system, curtain wall anchorage, lift shaft fixings and service risers) and eliminates the problem of having to use timber shutters where channel fixings occur with the possibility of channels being site fixed out of tolerance. The use of Pourstop also removes the inconvenience of site drilling. |
Fixing Halfen Pourstop and Skis |
| Pourstop is supplied in 2.5m and 3m lengths and is designed to replace normal edge trim where a channel fixing is required. The bottom, return, leg of the Pourstop is fixed down to the steel beam at a maximum of 250mm centres, typically by shot firing or using self drill and tap screws. The outer edge of the Pourstop should be at least 125mm from the edge of the metal deck to give room for channel anchors and any additional reinforcement. The top of the outer edge of the Pourstop is restrained to the metal deck using the straps provided, which should be fixed at a maximum of 600mm centres and within 100mm of any butt joint. Smaller centres should be used for slabs over 200mm thick. Care should be taken when fixing the straps that the face of the edge trim is vertical. Once the Pourstop is installed standing on the restraint straps should be avoided. Straps are supplied in long lengths for site cutting. |
