| The HBM reinforcement coupler system is manufactured by Halfen in the UK and is a very fast and cost-effective method of providing simple couplings exactly to contract requirements. |
| The system is designed to maintain full bar strength within the joint zone, and in-house testing gives added security. Connecting bars must be fully engaged. |

Socket bars and connecting bars |
| Socket bars are formed by swaging high strength collars on to reinforcement bars and are available in any length up to 6 metres. They are fixed to the formwork via nailing plates or standard metric bolts. |
| Connector bars are hot forged and are available in stock sizes for screwing into the socket bar. Dimensional limitations of the socket bars and stock sizes for the connector bars are on the opposite page. |
Connecting Studs |
| High tensile standard metric studs are available ex-stock and are used to connect 2 socket bars. This is particularly useful when the required connector bar lengths are greater than those normally available. The use of connecting studs can reduce the number of different socket and connector bars required and enhance the flexibility of the system. |
